My name is Linda Schmitt and I am the school social worker at GCMS Elementary School serving Early Childhood Education through 5th grade. I started working at GCMS CUSD #5 in August of 2003. - Better understand and meet their children's social and emotional needs
- Better understand programs available to students with special needs
- Better utilize school and community resources effectively
- Understand factors that affect students abilities to allow for maximum use of their school experience
- Access community resources
- Promote a safe school environment
- Understand school policies, programs, and practices
- Minimize environmental factors which inhibit learning
- Develop resources to adequately meet the needs of students and families
